I was really surprised coming home from Salone del Mobile in Milan, and the one thing I remembered the most was a small penguin. But this was off course not an ordinary penguin – it was a 72 cm high sculpture made in ceramic, by one of my favorite designers; Jamie Hayon. As usual his projects have more to them, than just what meets the eye – and this penguin is not an exception. It’s called Hope Bird and symbolizes the importance of «an optimistic approach to what lies ahead». I really like the message this little sculpture sends, and would love to have one in my home, reminding me (and my guests) to be standing tall and being positive.
