Matthias Pliessnig

This is the work of the designer Matthias Pliessnig, a very interesting seating structure. "Providence" was conceived around the notion of building a landscape for people to interact with. He also made many other similar structures, and they all give me a sense of tranquillity, and they seem very comfortable (...)

Embrasure:


With Embrasure, he wanted to experiment with flexible joints to see if he could create a hammock effect. Each joint is joined with hand-hammered copper rivets. The strips that make up the form are more sporadic as they swirl around to show the geometry of the curves.
